Getting help

Quote the X-Request-Id of a request when you contact FIVB.

When something goes wrong, FIVB can find your request in the gateway logs from its request ID.

Find the request ID

Every response from the VIS API has an X-Request-Id header, including gateway errors, except for requests too malformed to parse. Gateway errors also give it as request_id in their JSON body. Log it with each request your Application sends, so you have it when you need it.

curl -i "$VIS_API_URL/..." -H "X-Api-Key: $VIS_API_KEY"
HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized
X-Request-Id: 3f0c9a52-6d1e-4c41-9a57-0b8e2f1d7c44

Contact FIVB

Use the contact link on your Application page, and include:

  • the X-Request-Id of a failing request, with the date and time it was sent;
  • the Application ID (app_…) and the public ID of the API Key (k_…). Never send the secret of a key: FIVB never asks for it;
  • the status and error code you received, and what you expected.
