Organizations and roles
The Personal Team, Organizations, the Owner, Admin, and Member roles, and Invitations.
An Organization owns Applications and their API Keys. Everything you do in the Developer Portal happens in one Organization, shown at the top of each page.
Your Personal Team
When you first sign in, the portal creates your Personal Team: an Organization that only you belong to. It cannot be shared, left, or deleted. You can rename it in Settings.
Other Organizations
Trusted Developers can create other Organizations, to work with a team. FIVB decides who is a Trusted Developer: contact FIVB to become one. Use the Organization switcher at the top of the page to move between the Organizations you belong to.
An Organization keeps the same address when you rename it. Its Owners can delete it only when it has no Application, so that no API Key stops working without being revoked. Contact FIVB to remove its Applications.
Roles
Each member of an Organization has one role:
| Role | What the member can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything an Admin can do, and manage the Organization, its members, and its Invitations. |
| Admin | Everything a Member can do, and manage Applications and API Keys. |
| Member | See Applications, their API Keys (without secrets), Quota and usage, and the Organization's members. |
An Organization always keeps at least one Owner: its last Owner cannot be demoted, removed, or leave.
Invitations
Owners invite people from the Members page, with an email address and a role.
- The Invitation email has a link that is valid for 7 days and works once.
- The invited person signs in with their FIVB account, and the address of that account must be the invited address, verified by FIVB.
- An Owner can re-send an Invitation, which gives it a new link and makes the old one stop working, or revoke it.
Any member can leave an Organization from the Members page, unless they are its last Owner.
