Overview
Welcome to the VIS API documentation
What the Developer Portal is for, and where to start.
The VIS API gives your applications access to FIVB data. The Developer Portal is where you get access to it: you sign in, register your integration as an Application, and create the API Keys it sends with each request.
Choose where to start
- Make your first request takes you from signing in to your first successful call.
- Authenticate with an API Key explains how to send a key and keep it safe.
- Quotas and 429 responses explains how many requests you can send, and what to do when you send too many.
- Organizations and roles explains how to work with your team.
- Gateway errors lists the errors the gateway returns, and Getting help explains what to send when you contact FIVB.
How it fits together
- An Organization owns your Applications. You get your own, the Personal Team, when you first sign in.
- An Application stands for one integration with the VIS API, such as a website or a mobile app backend.
- An API Key belongs to one Application. Your requests send it, and the gateway uses it to identify your Application and apply its Quota.
